About ListFerret
ListFerret is a small collection of free tools for the everyday jobs that come up whenever you work with lists and text: pulling email addresses out of messy text, comparing and cleaning lists, and counting or reformatting words.
Why a ferret?
To “ferret something out” means to dig it up from somewhere hidden — which is exactly what these tools do with messy text and tangled lists. Ferrets are also quick, curious and tidy about their burrows. Our mascot is happy to help you sniff out the details.
Why we built it
Many of the classic list utilities on the web are decades old, upload your data to a server, or bury a simple task under pop-ups. We wanted tools that are fast, accurate, and respectful of your data — so everything runs directly in your browser and nothing you paste is ever sent to us.
What you’ll find here
- Email Extractor — finds emails, links, domains and phone numbers in any text or file, decodes obfuscated addresses, removes duplicates and exports to your preferred format.
- Compare Lists — shows what is unique to each list, what they share, and the combined set, with flexible matching rules.
- Remove Duplicates — deletes repeated lines, or keeps only the repeats or only the one-offs.
- Sort Lines — sorts alphabetically, naturally, numerically or by length, and tidies items with case, prefixes, quotes and numbering.
- List Converter — turns a column into a comma-separated list and back again.
- Word Counter — counts words, characters and sentences, with reading time, keyword density and length limits.
- Case Converter — switches text between UPPER, lower, Title, Sentence, camelCase, snake_case and more.
